Just a few more examples of some of the stained glass in crypts at Rock Creek Cemetery. To see my two favorite photos in this series, see D.C. Confidential.

I take pictures of Washington, D.C.--sights known and unknown. I post a photo or two a day at D.C. Confidential. This is my overflow site, because I can't decide which pictures to post and I want to post them all. Obviously, I never quite grasped the concept of quality over quantity.

Lovely works of light. It is as if they give light life rather than the other way round.
Wherever I travel in the world, I am drawn to photographing stained-glass windows in churches and basilicas.
Some weeks ago I actually devoted a Photo Hunt post to photographing some stained glass panels at St John's Church here in Melbourne, at Southgate.
Anil: I agree! They're beautiful and life-affirming, aren't they.
David: Every time I drive past a church, cathedral, basilica, or synagogue, I want to go in and spend time taking pictures of the stained glass. They're breathtaking works of art, aren't they?
