Photo of the Year?

I'm trying to figure out my photo of the year for 2008. Please choose two of the nine shown here and either leave a comment or email me your choices. If none of these stand out for you, but you recall a photo on my blog that you think is worth of POY status, let me know that, too, and I'll track it down and add it to the mix.

To see last year's POY 2007, go here.

Thanks for your help with this!

Festival of Lights : Washington Mormon Temple : Kensington, MD

Bald Eagle : Fort Casey State Park : Whidbey Island, WA

Lincoln at Dusk : Washington, DC

Lilacs : Pierce Mill, Rock Creek Parkway : Washington, DC

Farragut North Metro Station : Washington, DC

Hopperesque : National Gallery of Art : Washington, DC

Quiet Moment : West Potomac Park : Washington, DC

Five-Alarm Fire : Mt. Pleasant : Washington, DC

Breezeway : Washington National Cathedral : Washington, DC

Tough, tough decision. But only one must be chosen; my choice is Farragut North Metro Station : Washington, DC. Interesting repetative patterns, we the viewer are drawn deeper into the image by the way it is composed.

Hopperesque is still the one that brings out the snicker in me, but I'd probably vote for the Breezeway or Gingko Carpet :)

Hopperesque. You know why. :)

Of these, my fav is Quiet Moment, but Lincoln at Sunrise (or is it sunset?) is my all time favorite (and my desktop background).

Great job!

I love "Quiet Moment" : West Potomac Park : Washington, DC for the play of light and shadow along with the crisp color of the green grass contrasted with the blue water and sky. I'd love a copy of this photo.

Britta: Thanks! I like both of those, too. Picking the POY was tough. (But I guess that's better than having to choose from nothing or bad pictures, right?)
